The opening races of the 25/26 Doyle Sails Gold Cup Series delivered competitive sailing across the fleet, with a mix of strong performances and challenging conditions testing crews early in the season. In the Line results, Equilibrium (Botin Carkeek 55, Graham Matthews) leads the standings with a consistent 1st and 2nd across the two races, followed by Alegre (Soto 40, Vaughn Clark) in second and Liquid Luck (E-30, David Wade) in third. Close behind were Nirvana (Dufour 45e) and Flying Boat (Young 11), both showing solid performances to round out the top five.

On handicap under PHRF, Nirvana (Nigel Hendy) sits at the top of the leaderboard with 6 points after a 1st and 5th, narrowly ahead of Carpe Diem (Rowan Smith) in second and Equilibrium in third. Alegre shares equal points with Equilibrium, highlighting how tight the competition is across the division. Liquid Luck, Ticketty Boo, and Apparition also remain close in the standings.

With consistency already proving crucial in both Line and PHRF divisions, teams will be eager to build on their early momentum and tighten performance heading into the next race. The next event in the Doyle Sails Gold Cup Series is the Bean Rock Race on 1 November, and then the Percy Jones Memorial Race before Christmas. The series will wrap up early next year with the Balokovic Cup.
