The 2026 ILCA Nationals were raced in the Bay of Islands with large fleets and tough conditions and big winds throughout the week yet our RAYC members came out with amazing results.

The ILCA 4 fleet was led from start to finish by Nate Soper, who secured the national title with a consistent series at the front of the fleet including 4 bullets. Ava Wu finished second and first girl also taking out 4 races, while Keira Dimock placed fifth and Louis Yang finished eighth, giving four sailors inside the top ten.

The ILCA 6 Open fleet was one of the biggest divisions of the championship. Laura Yang finished 26th overall in an international and competitive fleet.

The ILCA 7 fleet featured a strong international lineup. Zach Stibbe placed 10th overall as well as 2nd under 21 with his best places being two 6ths. Beau Utting, new to the full rig, finished 19th overall and 5th Under 21, the top youth result from the group. Richard Bush, a usual in our Sawmill Twilight Series, completed the regatta in 32nd overall.
