The Royal Akarana Yacht Club is proud to announce that three of its talented youth sailing teams—Leo Brown & Peer Kruse, Hugo Smith & Louis Quere, and Blake Batten & Merrick Sanderson—are set to compete in Europe this season, representing both RAYC and New Zealand on the international stage.
These dedicated sailors will be representing RAYC at two events in Europe: Kiel Week in Germany, followed by the 29er European Championships in Italy. The teams have been training intensively and are a familiar sight on the water around the club. They also recently competed in the New Zealand PCL 29er National Championships where they all achieved amazing results.
“I’m really excited to represent New Zealand and RAYC,” said Leo Brown. “They should be fun events and hopefully we learn heaps to bring back to New Zealand”
