The Murrays Bay Stack Winter Champs are always the perfect way to close off winter sailing and get ready for an epic summer. Thirteen keen sailors competed across five different fleets this weekend and RAYC ended up with sailors on three of those podiums!

The sailors raced in a wide range of conditions and faced huge wind shifts. The tricky conditions and tough competition made for the perfect warm-up regatta to shake off the winter cobwebs.

Sophia Morgan put on a fantastic performance over the weekend, coming out comfortably on top in an extremely tough ILCA 6 fleet, winning three out of five races! Sophia trains extremely hard and this win was a great confidence booster as she continues to gun for a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics sailing for Fiji.

Anna Dold and Lola-Jean Hutchens also bagged a win at the regatta, taking out every single race and all with the biggest smiles on their faces. We love watching these girls go from strength to strength in the boat and can’t wait to see what they achieve this season.

Louis Quere showed his strength in the Starling Fleet finishing in third overall after a great race win, and four top 10 results. Louis is one of our top starling sailors currently, and it is a very promising sign to see him at the top of the fleet going into the 2023/2024 season.

Congratulations to all our RAYC sailors who finished on the podium and all those who worked extremely hard all weekend and made us very proud. Thank you to the parents, coaches and supporters who helped out over the weekend and to Murrays Bay for hosting another fantastic regatta. We can’t wait to see what this season brings after such a promising regatta.
