The Auckland to Noumea race starts on May 25. An international fleet including Poulpito from Noumea as well as a strong local fleet are busy making preparations. The fleet includes:

Serena, a Thompson 38  skippered by Josh Adams and Ryan Parkin was the first confirmed entry. The pair have completed the last two Round North Island two handed races in the boat and have a steady development plan. Ryan who is a member of the committee is excited about getting to Noumea and the CNC.

Rum Bucket a Moore 55, the most recent yacht  owned by NZ offshore racing stalwart Quintin Fowler. Quintin raced his previous yacht to both Fiji and Noumea with RAYC as well as completing the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Race. Rum Bucket has an extensive sailing programme unto the start.

Brian Peterson from V5 was very much on the fence about the race, until he took part in the Ocean Global Race rum race, and then watched the start and was so inspired that he entered V5 in the Auckland to Noumea race that evening.

We have two entries from Noumea that have recently joined the race Poulpito (David Treguier) a Sydney 38 and Young Gun’s (Patrick Baldi) a 35 HPR, which is exciting news!
