Terms and Conditions: Start Boat Fundraiser

  1. Eligibility:
    1. The Star Boat Fundraiser Competition (“Competition”) is open to all individuals aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.
    2. Employees of Akarana Marine Sports Charitable Trust and Royal Akarana Yacht Club, their immediate family members, and anyone else connected with the organisation or the Competition (including RAYC Flag Officers) are not eligible to enter.
  2. How to Enter:
    1.  To enter the Competition, participants must a donation of $1000 or more towards the purchase of a new start boat.
    2. Participants can make the payment online by purchasing https://rayc.co.nz/product/start-boat-fundraiser/ OR by payment of invoice.
    3. Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple entries will be disqualified.
  3. Competition Period:
    1. The Competition will begin on 9 October and will end at 5pm, the day the boat is purchased. All entries must be received by the end date and time. Entries submitted after this time will not be considered.
  4. Prize:
    1. The prize for the Competition is one full-year family or joint RAYC Membership plus a voucher for the Akarana Eatery valued at $1000.
    2. The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other alternative.
  5. Winner Selection:
    1. The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the Competition Period.
    2. The winner will be notified by email within 1 day of the end of the Competition.
    3. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 14 days of the initial notification, an alternative winner may be selected at our discretion.
  6. Publicity:
    1. By participating in the Competition, the winner agrees to the use of their name, image, and any imagery from start boat purchase in any promotional material or publicity efforts related to the Competition or Royal Akarana Yacht Club without any additional compensation.
    2. Royal Akarana Yacht Club reserves the right to use, reproduce, publish, or display such imagery in various marketing and promotional materials, including but not limited to social media, websites, brochures, advertisements, and press releases.
    3. The winner acknowledges and agrees that Royal Akarana Yacht Club shall have full rights to edit, modify, or enhance the imagery as deemed necessary for marketing and promotional purposes.
    4. The winner warrants that they have obtained all necessary permissions and consents from individuals present in the imagery, including guests, to grant Royal Akarana Yacht Club the rights specified in this clause.
    5. Royal Akarana Yacht Club shall not be held responsible for any claims, actions, suits, demands, liabilities, losses, or damages arising out of the use of the imagery as authorized in this clause.
    6. Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely in accordance with current data protection legislation and our privacy policy. Participant data will not be disclosed to a third party without the participant’s prior consent.
  7. Liability and Indemnity:
    1. Royal Akarana Yacht Club shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by the winner or their guests as a result of accepting or using the prize.
    2. Participants agree to release and hold Royal Akarana Yacht Club harmless from any claims, actions, suits, demands, liabilities, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with their participation in the Competition or acceptance and use of the prize.
  8. General Terms:
    1. Royal Akarana Yacht Club reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances or any other factors outside of our control.
    2. By entering the Competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any other instructions or requirements specified by Royal Akarana Yacht Club
    3. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.
    4. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
