Sunday was the final day of racing for the 2015 RAYC Winter Series. A good sized fleet made it onto the water, unfortunately the typical Auckland weather reigned supreme with everything from sunshine to hail and with the wind coming from every point of the compass. This played havoc for the Race Committee, so when the wind dropped away to nothing in the early afternoon, they shortened the day and only completed three of the five scheduled races.
After the racing was completed, a short prizegiving was held in the clubrooms. Commodore Nathan Bonney was present and began proceedings by congratulating our returning Feva Worlds team (who placed 3rd and 5th in the Under-13 division) which was greeted by a round of applause from the room. After this, the winners of the Winter Series were announced.
FF15 – Chris Field & his crew Amy held on to their lead going into the day for a well deserved win.
Feva – Harry Butler and his crews, Charlie Thomlinson & Toby Simpson, held off the returning Feva Worlds teams to maintain first place.
SKUDS – After leaders Tim Dempsey & Gemma Fletcher had difficulties on the water, Paul Webber & Mark Winters finished the series in first place.
And a huge thank you to our regular Moth and RS700 sailors, it is always a pleasure to see you guys out there zipping around the course!

And another huge thank you to Chris Ralph for donating his time and his boat for our use while RAYC Patrol is getting her make-over.
Just a few short months until the Summer Series starts, I can’t wait!
