During the winter season, while everyone has been hibernating, the RAYC office has been in full swing. Now that daylight savings has come we are on the cusp of launching our latest innovation.
The RAYC Twilight Series is going to be held on Friday evenings and is intended to increase the number of days our junior sailors can be on the water. The long term goal is to improve the racing skills of the sailors coming through the Academy and ease them into racing at larger events.
Racing is open to all, so Flying 15’s and M-Class yachts are more than welcome if they would like some casual Friday night racing. The bar and restaurant will be open for drinks and food after racing is finished and we plan to make this a very social night of the week.
Racing will start at 4.45pm and there are three short windward/leeward races planned for each race day. There has been a lot of interest already from our juniors and we can’t wait to have the waters around RAYC filled with Optimists and Fevas!
More information on the Twilight Series page.
The first race is next Friday 9th October. See you there!
