Term 3 Academy! It’s happening!

Hi Everyone!

Over term 3 we are running academy on Sunday’s from 1-4pm for Opti Race, BIC Race and Feva Race Groups.  These sessions will assist our race sailors in developing their skills and keep them sharp and race-ready for the regatta season ahead.  For all of our other sailors we will have our full range of academy programs available in Term 4 when the weather will be warmer and daylight saving will be back allowing us to run mid-week sessions.  We will also have School Holiday Options in both week 1 and 2 of the Term 3 holidays.

Term 3 sessions will be focussed on boat tuning, race tactics and strategy as well as advanced sailing techniques.   These sessions are open to our race group sailors who want to hone their skills and reach the top of their game. We will be working towards upcoming regattas including the Ice Breaker Regatta, Stack Winter Champs, the AIMS Games, the Sir Peter Blake Regatta and the BIC Worlds.

We hope to engage some specialist coaches along with some of our regular team to work with our sailors.  Last year we ran similar training sessions for the AIMS games and it was a real success. With our intent to only run classes when the weather conditions permit, we are only scheduling 4 sessions so we can pick and choose the best days. We aim to complete all four sessions within the first 6 weeks of the term. If the forecast isn’t good we will postpone sailing until the next week, you will be notified via our Facebook page and via e-mail each week with an update and confirmation of the session proceeding.

The cost for the term will be $250 and we will be running 4 sessions.

In order to make the most of the session’s we ask that kids they are at the club rigged and ready by 1pm rather than just arriving at 1pm.

We are looking forward to some great racing.

To secure your spot please hop online as numbers are strictly limited this term.
