Did you know that Sir Keith Park was a member of RAYC?
His correct title is Air Chief Marshall Sir Keith Park, GCB, KBE, MC & Bar, DFC.
He was born in June 1892 and died in 1975. He was born in Thames and, as well as NZ’s World War Flying Ace, he had a keen interest in the sea.
John Lidgard remembers him buying a small power boat from him as well as the fact that John needed a mooring for a short time and, because it looked free, he tied up to a mooring which turned out to belong to Sir Keith!
This is only a small part of the biography on Sir Keith being prepared by the Archives team.
