Sailors move to Starlings

The Royal Akarana Yacht Club Youth Sailors only started racing just a couple of seasons ago, but are now moving through the ranks with most of them headed for the Starling.

Eli Liefting, Harry Butler and Henry McLachlan are amongst the few who have advanced from Optimists to Starlings and the three of them were out training in the blustery conditions over the weekend.

“Starlings are awesome!” said Liefting who couldn’t get enough of the conditions.

“Did you see how fast we were going!” asked Butler when he returned to shore.

“Haha that was so much fun but I capsized!” laughed McLachlan.
