Sail Akarana – AP LOWERED

UPDATE

AP lowered at 0855 hours

The conditions for Sunday 16 September are horrid. No wind and plenty of rain. At this stage AP is hanging from the flag pole with sailors staying ashore until the breeze comes in.

Day 1 was cancelled due to 40+ knot winds and rough seas. The conditions were so bad that the floating pontoon on the launching ramp broke up. Unfortunately a moored boat in Okahu Bay also ended up on the rocks.

Regardless of the conditions, many of the crews returned to the club for Saturday’s BBQ, entertainment and rugby match.

More updates to come.

It’s raining, but at least it isn’t howling!
