New Zealand’s first cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19 novel coronavirus) have been confirmed. While there have been no new cases reported in the last few days, we want to take steps to minimise the potential spread of the virus through our home at the Hyundai Marine Sports Centre and the Auckland Sailing Club sites.
We’re closely following the advice put out by the Ministry of Health, and here is the first place you should check for the latest updates. You can also call the National Telehealth service for free on 0800 358 5453 which is available 24/7.

In the meantime, the best protection is to do the basics well:
- Avoid close contact with people with cold or flu-like illnesses
- Cover coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues or clothing
- Wash hands for at least 20 seconds with water and soap and dry them thoroughly, before eating or handling food, after using the toilet, after coughing, sneezing, blowing your nose or wiping children’s noses and after caring for sick people
- Self-isolate if you believe you have been exposed to the virus or have travelled from known infected areas within the last 14 days and seek medical attention.
