RAYC COVID-19 Update: Wednesday 12 August, 2020

I was hoping that I would not have to write to you again advising of the closure of the Hyundai Marine Sports Centre, the Akarana Eatery and all activities of Royal Akarana Yacht Club. However, with the Government’s announcement of Auckland moving up to Covid-19 Alert Level 3 we have closed the Hyundai Marine Sports Centre including Akarana Eatery, and all Club activity including the Academy in line with the Alert Level restrictions.

Hopefully these restrictions will be lifted in the near future and we will be able to resume operations. However, we have prepared for a longer period of disruption in case that is required.

All staff are working from home and the Hyundai Marine Sport Centre and ASC buildings are not accessible at this time.

We will continue to update you regarding Club and Hyundai Marine Sports Centre operations as we are advised of any further information or change to the Covid-19 Levels.

In the meantime please follow the advice of health professionals and the Government so that we can collectively get back together on the water and around the Club in the shortest time possible.

You can find additional information regarding Alert Level 3 on the Covid-19 website at https://covid19.govt.nz/covid-19/restrictions/alert-level-3/, at Sport NZ https://sportnz.org.nz/covid-19/alert-level-information/, and at Yachting New Zealand https://www.yachtingnz.org.nz/clubs/covid-19-latest-updates.

“You can’t change the weather but you can adjust your sails”, we have been here before and we will get through this together.
