Miss Scarlet leads Groupama New Caledonia Race

Miss Scarlet, the IRC52 who races under the burgee of Royal Akarana Yacht Club, is currently leading the fleet in the worlds biggest Windward Leeward race.

The Groupama New Caledonia race is 652nm in length starting and finishing in Noumea, right where the Auckland Noumea Yacht Race finished.

On board Miss Scarlet, owned by William Goodfellow and Graeme Wilson, is offshore yachting legend Franck Cammas.

Eighty-one miles separates Miss Scarlet from the first multihull, the trimaran Ave Gitana (who also competed in the Auckland Noumea Yacht Race), and the Kiwis on Miss Scarlet are on the money in IRC overall results. Patrice (AUS) is the best-placed in the ORC overall standings.

Miss Scarlet won the IRC trophy in Auckland Noumea and the team is keen to add more silverware to the cabinet.
