Menace wins in Sydney

Menace Yachting has won the 2015 MC38 Winter Regatta!

Sailed out of Middle Harbour Yacht Club, Menace had three bullets from seven races giving them a two point lead after the final race.

Howard Spencer: “It was a heart stopper to blow the start on the final race while tied and then to come back was a ‘big dig’ out of a ‘big hole’. Once again shows how tight and close this class racing is, regatta was won in the last 200m of the last race…. Nerve-wracking but great to come out on top, must have been the bucket of rum with our support team on Sassafras on Saturday night.”

“It was definitely a regatta of two halves, we were pretty scratchy on Saturday and were very happy to still be in with a chance going in to Sunday.

“Sunday started off well, we completely nailed the first start and set the tone for the day. The team really sailed well and the boat just felt fast and Will

[Tiller] really grew in confidence and nailed the tricky conditions. Just one of those days where everything went our way, you get those but you got to have the bad ones to enjoy the ones like Sunday, couldn’t have scripted it better if we’d written it.”

This is great result for the team who are the only internationals to attend the racing in Sydney.
