Screen Shot 2015-12-23 at 1.31.48 pmWe used to have a group of ladies who met regularly on a Wednesday to revive sea stories from their sailing days. They were called the Daylarks. They produced this recipe book and we picked out one that appeared appropriate at this time of year as our thoughts turn to food, drink and easy to prepare meals and snacks on board. This one was submitted by Min Pragnell, wife of Ken Pragnell, and keen sailors with RAYC. Other recipes were submitted by Pat Skirrow, keen yachtie Des Conway, wife of Trevor and also one of the Daylarks’ founder members, and Margaret Young plus others. If anyone can put us in touch with Margaret it would be much appreciated to compile information on the Daylarks. There was also a group called the Night Owls, comprised of ladies still sailing. Again it would be great to hear from anyone who can help with any more information about the Daylarks and/or the Night Owls. Please contact Marian Harkness on (09) 524-4968 or Very best wishes for a Merry Christmas from the Archives team to all RAYC members and happy sailing.
