Change of leadership at the club

The Royal Akarana Yacht Club is undergoing obvious physical changes, but behind the scenes the General Committee has been working to reshape the roles of staff to fit the new location and altered responsibilities of the club.

As per the plan, Andrew Brookland, who previously held the role as General Manager, has moved to working for the Akarana Marine Sports Charitable Trust 100% of his time. Andrew has only had a guidance role with RAYC since Easter 2016 and these duties now have been spread between the other staff and the General Committee.

The requirements of the club are evolving with many roles no longer required now we do not have a building to look after. All building responsibilities have been moved to the Trust.

Commodore Sally Garrett, together with the General Committee Members, have taken on the management of the club until the time when the relocation into the Hyundai Marine Sports Center takes place. Our dedicated team of staff have remained and below are the areas they are responsible for.
