A report to members from the Archives team

We have been quietly amassing information from the past for members and thought we should give you an update on how we are doing.  When we are in the new building this information will be available to members digitally so access can be gained to past years’ events and races as well as biographies of past members and those associated with our Club or it’s predecessors such as yacht designers and builders, yachting photographer, etc.

These have been researched in 5 year lots, starting with the formation of the North Shore

Sailing Club in 1895, then changed to the North Shore Yacht Club in 1901, then the Akarana Yacht Club in 1922 and lastly with the gift of the Royal Warrant in 1938 as the Royal Akarana Yacht Club.

Years completed: 1895-1904, 1920-1939.

Years in process:  1905-1909,  1915-1919, 1946-1949. 1970-1974. 1955-1959

So we are hoping for new researchers to volunteer for years outstanding which are:

1910-1914, 1950-1955,1960-1969 and from 1975 to the present day.

Ideally we would have hoped that by now we would be further ahead but

Your Club needs you!

Please, if you have time to do a little research it would be much appreciated.
