RAYC largest representation at YNZ inclusive coaching workshop

Ever wondered how a coaching or racing session would be different when working with disabled sailors?

The Halberg Trust and Yachting New Zealand delivered an Inclusive Coaching workshop to the 25 coaches, race management and volunteers last Monday at RAYC.   This was the largest course ever and RAYC was represented by 13 club members. Attendees learnt a set of useful techniques and background knowledge for working with disabled sailors.

The formal part of the workshop was followed by a hands on look at adapted equipment lead by Brendan Tourelle of the Sailing Committee.

Coaching the Coaches
The RAYC academy has five new Learn To Sail coaches, freshly qualified at a course held by YNZ at the club. Blustery wintery conditions did not stop Bianca Barbarich-Bacher, Claudia Blomfield, Laura Lowther, Andrea Hawtin and Louisa Gallie passing the course.
