The New Zealand National Champions have now moved into 6th place overall after another successful day on the water.
Coach Chris Dickson is extremely proud of their efforts so far.
“It’s been a light air regatta so far. Choppy waves and strong current have made it tricky but Rose and Eli started well, sailed smart, kept out of trouble and with good speed deserved their placings.” said Dickson.
“They have two more days and plenty of racing to go but they are in good shape,” continued Dickson.
Skipper Liefting is also very happy with how they are placed.
“We made some good decisions and our team work has been great!” said Liefting
There are 165 boats competing in the RS Feva Worlds and to see the Kiwis placed so highly is a testament to the quality of Feva racing at Royal Akarana Yacht Club.
The club owns eight Fevas which are used for learn to sail, racing and regattas and these boats are also available to our youth members for training for major events.
