Royal Akarana Yacht Club members and current RS Feva New Zealand Champions Elijah Liefting and Rose Dickson are currently placed 13th overall at the RS Feva World Championship.

Racing in Santander, Spain, Liefting and Dickson had a solid first day finishing 4th, 9th and 3rd in the first three races of the Championship.

Out of the 163 boats racing, Liefting and Dickson are the only New Zealand entry and are proudly waving the RAYC burgee.

Liefting and Dickson are being coached by yachting legend Chris Dickson, who was happy with their first day results.

“It was 12 knots today and good sailing for solid results. Three more races tomorrow and then the fleet is split into three with first the objective looking really good to make the gold fleet (top 55 boats) for the finals racing which is from Wednesday through to Friday,” said Dickson.
