RAYC is the host club for 2014 Oceanbridge Sail Auckland from the 1st to 4th February 2014, which is the main international graded event for Olympic Classes in NZ. We will also be joined by other international fleets such as the Flying 15 and OK Dinghy fleets. All racing will take place across 5 course areas in the Waitemata Harbour, in the Hauraki Gulf.

The logistics of such an undertaking are massive and the planning is already well underway. The regatta cannot run without volunteers and we already have a large number of volunteer support ranging from the various Organising Committees, Jury and Race Officers through to administration and catering staff.

Yachting NZ, it’s staff, and yacht clubs from around the region have generously committed their time and resources to the event.

But we still need more help.

In particular we really need more experienced and capable support boat drivers and crew members to assist with running the racing.

It is an ideal opportunity for experienced sailors and boaties to get on the water and, in between carrying out your duties, you will see some top level sailing and learn from some of the best sailors in NZ dinghy sailing (and in some cases in the world!) in action.

If you are able to spend a day or more with us on the water or are happy to help out in other aspects of the regatta, please drop a line to Suellen Hurling (suellen@rayc.co.nz).

Thank you for your support!
